Farewell, to the legendary king of late night, David Letterman who was hosting for nearly 33 years. The man had some serious humour and he made an impact on people's lives by brightening soul's across the US and the world, night in and night out. Many do not know, but Letterman overcame an open heart surgery back in 2000 and then continued to push forward. In fact, Letterman actually claims that the surgery was a blessing that opened many new doors for him. His wife Regina and his son came into his life after being under the knife. Although, David is not the most heartfelt or inspiring quote worthy individual (probably because he is a comedian at heart), however he has had his tid-bit moments where he's randomly shared some very deep and profound statements. Collectively, here are David Letterman's 8 most inspiring quotes ever said:
"Anything worth doing is worth overdoing."
"There's only one requirement of any of us, and that is to be courageous. Because courage, as you might know, defines all other human behavior. And, I believe - because I've done a little of this myself - pretending to be courageous is just as good as the real thing."
"I'm just trying to make a smudge on the collective unconscious."
"Next in importance to having a good aim is to recognize when to pull the trigger."
"If what you've done is stupid, but it works, then it really isn't all that stupid".
"There is no 'off' position on the genius switch."
"My greatest fear in life is being dull. You can be great, you can be awful, but just don't bother being dull."
"I have found that the only thing that does bring you happiness is doing something good for somebody who is incapable of doing it for themselves."
