Fergie keys to success

Inner Keys to Success:

  • KNOW WHAT YOUR WORTH AND GO AND GET WHAT YOUR WORTH: You know, I started in show business at about seven years old. That’s why I feel so appreciative of everything now because I’ve been working hard at this all my life.” Fergie didn’t settle for anything less than what she knew she deserved. She was in the entertainment industry for a long time, and through all the ups and downs, she was always working towards what she felt she was worth. From the beginning of her career in the performing arts she was the voice of Sally on the The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show. Following a spot in a commercial for Rice Krispies, she then appeared in the musical television show, Kids Incorporated. Fergie would soon go on to form a trio band Wild Orchid. The band would begin meeting with many different record labels, yet struggled to get signed. They’re drive eventually paid off as they got signed with Sony. They had 2 fairly good albums until the label declined they’re 3rd album and Fergie left the group. She continued to perform as she became a dance-floor regular in many LA venues and bumped into Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. They had many meetings after various shows and before long, Fergie was finally invited to join the group in the recording studio. Shortly after, they began recording songs together and the band invited her to join permanently. Even after a ton of commercial success, Fergie knew she had more in store and left the group to pursue her solo career.
  • DEAL WITH THE PROBLEMS HEAD ON, AND OBTAIN DISCIPLINE: Fergie suffered a tremendous hardship when her record label declined her bands 3rd album. She went on an emotional ride and was even seeing a therapist. Her drug addiction was out of control. Fergie eventually faced her obstacles straight on. She overcame one of most highly addictive drugs, Crystal Meth. She has spoken on the issue admitting “I started doing Ecstasy. Then I got addicted to crystal methamphetamine. My weight dropped to 90lb. I lied to my friends and said I was bulimic. Finally I started going crazy. In that moment I talked to God and He said: ‘I’ve given you all these gifts, so what are you doing?’ I decided to get clean. I told everybody what was wrong.” She opened up to friends and family about not being happy with who she was, and with her mother’s help she went to rehab. Fergie also mentioned in an interview with Time Magazine that crystal meth “was the hardest boyfriend I ever had to break up with.”  She also claimed to use hypnotherapy to alter her thoughts and behaviors. This new found discipline certainly guided her to stardom.
  • USE THE NEGATIVES AND POSITIVES AS MOTIVATION, THE DOTS CONNECT LOOKING BACKWARDS: As a 6 year old, according to Rolling Stones Magazine, Fergie went to her first concert, which was the massively talented Tina Turner. "She pointed at me. I love how she was energetic and raw. Those early impressions tell you how things are supposed to be." This moment served as a big inspiration for the young girl. As a kid, she also won a spelling bee which contributed to her future songwriting abilities. Growing up Fergie suffered from Attention Deficit Disorder and her parents divorced when she was a teenager, this was a rough time for an aspiring star. Her parents today are both cancer survivors who battled two different forms of the illness. This has propelled Fergie to begin her own charity for the epidemic. Through the good and bad, her passion for growth cemented her future.
