Jennifer Lawrence Conquered Her Dreams & Herself:
Jennifer Lawrence Was True To Her Authentic Self And Never Followed:
Jennifer Lawrence grew up a tom boy who was not allowed to play with the other girls in pre-school because she was too rough. “I’m a big believer in accepting yourself and not really worrying about it.” The young star has always represented a “be yourself” personality who constantly encourages her fans to do the same. Today, in a Hollywood where looks are stereotypical, Jennifer Lawrence does not care to play by the same rules, in fact, she wants to break them altogether. She’s always authentic and is so comfortable in her own skin. She has addressed the issue of not following the ‘skinny’ look, and admits to disliking dieting trends saying “I don't diet. I do exercise! But I don't diet. You can't work when you're hungry, you know?” In fact, her love for Doritos chips has resulted in many stained dresses on the set of American Hustler, but she continued to eat them nonetheless and had made several replica dresses to solve the issue. “I don't really diet or anything. I'm miserable when I'm dieting and I like the way I look. I'm really sick of all these actresses looking like birds... I'd rather look a little chubby on camera and look like a person in real life, than look great on screen and look like a scarecrow in real life.” She gained a massive following for her uniqueness too, at the awards show she fell and did it with confidence and humour. "You look how you look, be comfortable." She's always been so real with who she is that she even brought her own parents to an award show full of A-listers. Worrying less about others' opinions means more fun and more success.
Jennifer Lawrence Found Her Calling And Then Pursued It With Full Confidence:
“I never felt like I completely, 100% understood something so well as acting.” Lawrence certainly never found her calling right away, but when she found it, she never let go, and did whatever necessary to make it a sharp reality. She initially wanted to become a doctor and did was some work assisting a nurse at the children’s summer day camp. The girl who was voted in her class as “Most Talkative” would get her big twist came when she was on a family trip to New York and a stranger asked to take her picture. He would end up getting her mother’s phone number for a follow up and then called the next day to do a screen test. Apparently agents told her mother "it was the best cold read by a 14- year-old they had ever heard". She would then stay in New York for the summer as she did commercials for MTV. “ Even as far back as when I started acting at 14, I know I've never considered failure”. She heavily thanks her parents for their huge support saying ““I don't know if this is why everything has worked so well and I'm not sure I'd recommend this kind of thinking to anyone else, but I've always known I'd be successful in acting. I have certainly worked for it.”
She Became A Master Of Her Fate And Then Strived For Excellence:
Jennifer Lawrence had a pretty ambitious approach with almost anything she did. She was a very athletic kid who pursued cheerleading, field hockey and softball. She was also involved in community theatre and did some modelling, however never really gave acting a thought. In school, she claims, “I always felt dumber than everybody else. I hated it. I hated being inside. I hated being behind a desk. School just kind of killed me.” Being a go-getter, however, she would graduate 2 years early with a 3.9 GPA when her parents promised to allow her to pursue acting. And when she finally found her destiny, she came swinging. “When I first got to New York, my feet hit the sidewalk and you'd have thought I was born and raised there. I took over that town. None of my friends took me seriously. I came home and announced, 'I'm going to move to New York,' and they were like 'OK.' Then when I did, they kept waiting for me to fail and come back. But I knew I wouldn't. I was like, 'I'll show you.'” As the success came rolling in, Jennifer would never settle, but continued to keep grinding. For Hunger Games, she worked out twice a day and practiced archery. For her role in Winter’s Bone, she had to learn how to fight, chop wood and skin squirrels to get the part. “I'd have walked on hot coals to get the part. I thought it was the best female role I'd read - ever.” Jennifer Lawrence continues to soar and her work ethic helps her in every way. Her mentality is regarding work is “I like when things are hard; I'm very competitive. If something seems difficult or impossible, it interests me.”
