If you are unfamiliar with Marie Curie, she was the first female professor to teach at the prestigious University of Paris and the first woman to win the Nobel Prize award. She was a ground breaking scientist who discovered the elements Polonium and Radium. After all, there are only around 100 natural elements and finding 2 is what you call shaping our universe in a huge way! Marie was extremely passionate about science and was a hard working woman who was coined “The first lady of science’. She would eventually create the mobile x-ray machines from her findings in radium and also created the dictionary word to describe it’s state “radioactive”. Marie Curie was not only a celebrity like scientist for her popularity, but she was also a very profound and philosophical preacher and had many statements that made her wise beyond her times; here are her eight great quotes of genius!
“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.”
“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.”
“Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas.”
“I was taught that the way of progress was neither swift nor easy.”
“You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right.”
“You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end each of us must work for his own improvement and at the same time share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.”
"I am one of those who think like Nobel, that humanity will draw more good than evil from new discoveries."
“All my life through, the true sights of nature made me rejoice like a child.”
