Ryan Gosling is much more than just a heartthrob to just the ladies, he is always a very motivating individual in all he does. From saving a woman’s life, to being a you-tube sensation for a video of him breaking up a fight, to most importantly – the fact that he’s so himself, to the point he loves knitting all day on his days off and took his mother and sister to the Oscars. Here are the 15 reasons or facts that make Ryan Gosling such a motivational character…
.) In Elementary school, Ryan would get picked on and received constant abuse from the other kids that he was eventually taken out and taught at home by his mother. He was nicknamed ‘trouble’ by his former classmates.
.) Ryan Gosling was eager enough to beat out an astonishing 17,000 actors as a kid to earn a spot on The All new Mickey Mouse Club. He would live with co-star Justin Timberlake and his family.
.) Rather than live in the same place like all of the other young stars, Ryan and his family lived in the trailer park nearby. He was also his families only source for income.
.) Gosling is not just an actor, as if that weren’t enough, but he is also a mastered jazz guitarist and plays the piano. He also formed his own band called Dead Man’s Bones where he toured with the group around North America. As a
.) Gosling has a deep sense of compassion for the world around him and believes strongly in generating awareness. He travelled to Chad to create a documentary on the Darfur refugees. He’s also a big philanthropist supporting PETA, Invisible Children and SickKids foundation. Not only that, he’s invested much time and money in AIS research and poverty aid and humane animal treatment.
.)Rather than put limitations on himself, Ryan Gosling pursued what he had a yearning passion towards, acting. “I’ve learned it’s important not to limit yourself. You can do whatever you really love to do, no matter what it is.” Here’s the fascinating part, he had no formal acting training, yet began his career by casting in Young Hercules and Breaker High.
“I always wanted to entertain. When I was 6, a scrawny, scrawny kid, I’d get in my red speedo and do muscle moves. I actually thought I was muscular. I didn’t know everyone was laughing at me.”
.)He was rewarded for being his original authentic self, the director of his breakthrough film (The Notebook) claims that “When I got there, he was standing in his backyard, and he looked at me and said, ‘I want you to play this role because you’re not like the other young actors out there in Hollywood. You’re not handsome, you’re not cool, you’re just a regular guy who looks a bit nuts.’”
.) Ryan Gosling can be as spontaneous and instinct following as they come. In fact, he once went to a Girl Scout stand and bought every single box of cookies and handed them out on the street to complete strangers.
.) In the film Drive, he actually built the Malibu car he would drive. He actually took the entire car apart and put it back together. All because the director claims that Ryan wanted to build his own car.

.) Ryan Gosling totally follows his blissful intuition. He had a great meal and decided to build a Moroccan restaurant in Beverley Hills where pictures were leaked of him doing the dishes. He unfortunately went bankrupt with the vision and apparently was forced to do all the plumbing. That’s OK, Ryan understands that failure comes with the territory of success.
.) So detached from himself, Ryan gave himself his own tattoo utilizing a tattoo kit. The “bloody monster’s hand holding a heart” turned into a cactus. He didn’t even remove it!
.) He is like no other, which makes him the only Ryan Gosling that does things his very own way. Some may think he’s weird but he doesn’t care. Rather than have a huge team of friends, he tends to just have a very small circle and enjoys solitude and being an introvert.
.) Although he has became one of the most famous actors who gets searched nearly 1.8 million times a month on google, Ryan decided to take a “leave” from the acting world claiming he “lost perspective on what I’m doing.”
.) Ryan clearly enjoys exiting his comfort zones, he took ballet lessons but then stopped because he was apparently horrible at it. At least he tried. After the ever popular Notebook was done with, he apparently worked in a sandwich shop for some time. He also admits that his perfect day consists of knitting all day long. “I also think that something interesting comes out when you do something that you’re afraid of, so I try to take things that I’m not sure that I can do.”
.) Ryan Gosling, is not motivated by money or fame, but doing things that are true to him
“There is this idea in Hollywood, and I’ve seen it work for people, where the unspoken rule is ‘Do two for them and one for yourself.’ And that’s kind of considered a fact. I’ve never really found that to be true for me. I’ve gotten more opportunities out of working on things I believed in than I ever did on things that weren’t special to me.”
.)Rather than over analyze things, he flows with the nature of his heart, and usually Ryan’s gut is guiding him in the right direction. When the Hurricane Katrina disaster occurred, he immediately packed his stuff and headed to Mississippi to help build a Monastery, which is a temple like building for monks and nuns.
.) Ryan Gosling is not fond of the status quo of the L.A area or the actor lifestyle. He does his own thing, and for him, that’s going to Disneyland alone and going on all the rides all day long.
.) On a hugely famous youtube video, Ryan Gosling decided to break up a heated fight between 2 guys as he played the mediator.
.) Ryan Gosling saved a woman’s life. She was a British Writer who acknowledged him on Twitter saying “I literally, LITERALLY, just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling. Literally. That actually just happened.”
