This quote by Muhammad Ali explains that along the road to your dreams, you have to be willing to make sacrifices, and do what you’re uncomfortable doing. In Ali’s case, it was training, but he stayed focused on the bigger picture knowing that being the champion far outweighed the short-term sweat and hard work it required.

“I know where I’m going and I know the truth, and I don’t have to be what you want me to be. I’m free to be what I want”

To conquer oneself, which is ultimate freedom so to speak, you have to be yourself, and do exactly what you wish. You cannot listen to what others think of you, rather listen to what your heart is telling you and do what you know will make you truly happy. Muhammad Ali knew and applied this attitude as he always followed his intuition.

“Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even”

Unfortunately, it often takes being beat down in order for us to realize the power that exists within us. When one feels this sense of defeat, they can gain a “fear nothing and virtually no one” mindset as they have nothing to lose and everything to gain! This will give the confidence and courage to accomplish the impossible.

“It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe”

“I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was”

A powerful testament and proof of how important it is to apply the fake it to make it attitude. Whatever you wish to become in this world, you have to act and feel like your already that person NOW. “What keeps me going is goals”

Without goals, you have absolutely no path, let alone destination, to get to, and you will most likely fail to accomplish anything. With goals, your life has direction, purpose, and meaning. When you use your imagination to create what you want to achieve in your mind, you literally speed up the process for it to manifest into a reality.
