Lessons To Learn From Kobe Bryant’s Success Story:
Kobe Bryant Understood That Confidence, And The Right Practice Leads To Greatness:
Kobe is very confident in his skills and in who he is. When compared over and over throughout his career to Michael Jordan, a praise many would love, Kobe states he appreciates it, but at the same time does not like to be compared because he wants to put his own mark and name on the game, which he has! “I don’t want to be the next Michael Jordan, I only want to be Kobe Bryant.” This is the kind of inner strength in oneself that we can certainly learn from; it’s the deep conviction and belief in ourselves that we are powerful beyond measure. Kobe Bryant’s father was a 76er, and when Kobe was only 6, his father left the NBA and moved with his family to begin playing professional basketball in Italy. Kobe’s father actually coached him in his sophomore year of high school along with being a personal coach off the sidelines. And young Kobe was so fired up to play in the NBA; he even worked out with the 76ers as a teen.
Kobe Bryant Had A Clear Vision Toward His Goal of Being An NBA Superstar:
Kobe knew what he wanted and it was just a matter of time before it would come to pass. He played basketball since he was 3 years old, had studied videos of players and practiced until he was ready to play the game he had always loved. His motivation to become great was evident at such a young age. Kobe Bryant knew exactly what he wanted, even the team he wished to play for, as his favorite team growing up was shockingly, the L.A Lakers. This knowing-ness is what fuels and anchors dreams.
Kobe Bryant Was Always Motivated By The Big Picture:
He has the mindset for complete excellence. He succeeds because he has one of the most focused mindsets in the game. And this determined mentality is the same reason he made it to the NBA, he has full faith and control of his destiny while his level of focus is incomparable! During the playoffs of 2010, Bryant didn’t show a single sign of relief (even with Chris Rock in the audience telling him jokes) until his mission to win the championship was complete. Once he won, then he celebrated. With 5 NBA rings, Kobe is a determined winner.
“You always have to be on edge. You always have to take every practice, every game, like it is your last.” – Quote by Kobe Bryant
