Lady Gaga is much more than just an artist, she’s the purest form of an overcomer of adversity and her resilience is inspirational on every level. From high-school to her respective lime light fame, she’s always faced the odds and broke through the stereotypes. At the 2015 Grammy’s, she finally shattered another myth, that she was much more talented and artistic then some non-believers could ever imagine, with her unbelievable performance showcasing her peak vocals.
She admitted to Rolling Stone Magazine that while growing up she would have these “Evita brows” and that she would tan on her own resulting in a darker than normal colour. This is where she would face the wrath of high school kids who would bully and name call her saying ‘Why the fuck are you so orange, why do you do your hair that way, are you a dyke? Why do you have to look like that for school?’ I used to be called a slut, be called this, be called that. I didn’t even want to go to school sometimes.”
Through these trials with a sometimes evil world, Lady Gaga really learned the lessons of “doing what you do” and really trying not to care about others and their hating opinions. We can completely see how she takes gigantic risks and is not afraid to showcase her true intuitive art from the upbringing she endured.
“Bullying really stays with you your whole lifeAnd it really, really never goes away. And I know you’re using words like ‘superstar’ and ‘most-Googled’ and ‘billions of YouTube [views].’ But I was never the winner. I was always the loser. And that still stays with me. And do I want to stick it to anybody? No. I just wanna make music.” – Lady Gaga
#MoralOfTheStory: Sometimes the adversities we face give us the strength needed for the people we wish to become. Embrace the hate and let it fuel you to become great. Don’t allow the negativity drown you, but try and search for the hidden life lessons within the adversity to build you bigger.
