Nas’ Brilliant Advice- Obey Your Thirst

Hip hop legend and pro lyricist Nas gives his take on success, growing up in Queensbridge, and the impact he always aspired to make on music and art collectively. He’s long been noted as the “realest rapper” and in this clip you get a real glimpse of why. Fader teammed up with Sprite to do some unique interviews (such as this one) with some major influencers, breaking down and picking the brains of some very credible artists.

In this “Episode 2” video, Nas gives us some raw inspiration and some pretty killer advice about trusting in yourself, being the full extension of who you are and what you stand for. Nas also tells us about his upbringing and how he loved growing up in New York as it gave him many dreams of being a play writer, an artist or a businessman. He gave some compelling advice to young people and elaborated on how you should push yourself to your highest and grandest visions, and that you should never stress yourself out over what other people are doing. “Why do something that’s not you?”

“There was nothing more important to me than having a voice. I wanted to make a big impact on this art form, I wanted to kick everybody out. I wanted to open up a doorway for another generation.”
