Top 10 French Montana Quotes To Weather The Tough Times

July 14 was the date French Montana released his newest track list album – Jungle Rules. Fans have already been privy to the launch of these two tracks from the album; ‘Unforgettable’ and ‘No pressure’, which foreshadow a ‘dope’ album to come.  French Montana has a great list of tracks lined up, featuring a good line of fellow artists such as; Swae Lee, The Weekend, Max B, Travis Scott, Quavo & Alkaline to name just a few. Jungle Rules will be Montana’s 15th top album. Not bad for a kid from Morocco, who moved to the Bronx when he was only 13!
Montana’s two loves growing up were soccer and rap.  When he moved with his family to the U.S. from Morocco, his family suffered financial devastation when his dad moved back to Morocco and abandoned the family due to his dislike of living in the U.S. Montana, known to his family as Karim Kharbouch, had to step up at a young age to help support the family and turned to drug dealing for a period of time.  His mother was pregnant with her third child.  While in the scene, Montana also became a ‘battle rapper’ and released a DVD series under the name of ‘Cocaine City’ with friends, later becoming ‘Coke City’. These DVDs served as a ‘platform’ to interview other rappers and then feature his music as well, giving him exposure. Montana learned English on the streets of the Bronx, in addition to the French and Arabic he already knew.  He was given the name French – which ‘stuck’ with him until now!
Montana achieved the status of ‘bad ass’ when he suffered a gunshot wound to the head and survived back in 2003. He had apparently been set up by someone known to him.  His good friend Chinx died in this incident – ( Montana has paid homage to Chinx by including him in the Jungle Rules album).   Montana persevered through his treatment and later went on to release his album ‘French Revolution’ in 2007 and many more after that.
Montana lived and survived trying times.  He pulled through these times in unconventional and creative ways which ultimately resulted in his success. We can utilize some of the words of Karim – French Montana to inspire us to focus on our own self reliance to get us through as well:

1.)

“Never worry about what you’re going lose but what you’re going gain.” – French Montana

2.)

“Is it important to have a crew behind me? No, it’s important to have me behind them. That’s how I look at it. You can’t just roll with a situation like you’re depending on somebody to help you. You’re supposed to help the situation, whatever the situation is that you’re in.” – French Montana

3.)

“Umm… I don’t judge my relationship with Puff or Bad Boy according to other people or past artists. At the end of the day, you are in charge of your career, and you can’t depend on no man to do anything for you. I’ve learned to judge relationships with a person on myself and that person, not what they have done with previous people.” – French Montana

4.)

“Coming from Morocco was just different, man. It’s a third-world country, and you are trying to make it happen. That’s all it is. I didn’t have any problem hooking up with the black kids because I’m from North Africa. And as far as Latinos, we are all the same.” – French Montana

5.)

“Besides buying a mansion or something, everything I wanted I always got. I’m just ready to invest it and save it. Otherwise, life can hit you, but you can’t go back to working at Home Depot. That’s why I always just be stacking.” – French Montana

6.)

“I speak from the heart. Certain people follow lyricists and people that put words on a dictionary together, and this and that. I’m more of a rapper that speaks how I feel. I just tell it how it is.” – French Montana

7.)

“At the end of the day, you got to learn from people that been through what you been through; they help you learn from your mistakes.” – French Montana

8.)

“You can’t expect to make all this money and not go through problems.   You can’t expect God to give everything you want without taking something away.” – French Montana

9.)

“The hardest challenge I’m facing is just balancing my family with the industry. It’s kind of like, you gotta stay out there doing your thing, doing whatever and it takes you away from your family. So it’s hard to balance it out but once you get it, it’s a lifestyle. You got to sacrifice to do what it is you want.” – French Montana

10.)

“In school, my favorite subject was math. That’s where I learned to count money.” – French Montana
